Professional Tuba Player
Chris is a professional freelance orchestral and chamber musician, graduating from Trinity College of Music in 2010 where he studied with Oren Marshall and George Wall. He played with many of their ensembles and has performed in masterclasses with Michel Goddard, Jen Bjorn-Larsen, Sergio Carolino, Sam Elliot and Gene Porkony.
He has also performed with many orchestras including Orchestra of St Paul’s, Orchestra of the City, London Irish Symphony Orchestra, Amadeus Orchestra, Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra, The Rehearsal Orchestra and Dartington Festival Orchestra. Chris has also performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in the BBC Proms as part of the Between the Notes Project.
In 2006, Chris founded the brass ensemble YouTuba, along with three friends from Trinity College of Music. In 2008 YouTuba won the highly prestigious Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Prize. YouTuba have toured Switzerland, opening the Lucerne Chamber Music Festival in 2010 and the released of their critically acclaimed album Carnival.
Joining the Royal Air Force in 2012, Chris was originally posted to the Central Band of the RAF. He served as part of NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission in 2014, and was posted to the Band of the RAF Regiment in 2015. Travelling with the band to India, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, he has performed for royalty, on the RAF in Concert tour, Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and Edinburgh Tattoo.
